Robert O’Brien was called to the Bar in 1983 and has been
with Coutts Crane Ingram since 1981 first as an articling student,
then as a lawyer and subsequent to 1985 as a partner.
Robert practice and expertise includes civil litigation, dispute
resolution, family and estate law, and he has appeared in Superior
Court, the Court of Appeal and before various tribunals.
Robert served as President of The Rotary Club of Toronto in 1998-1999.
His accomplishments in this capacity were recognized as he was presented
with the Paul Harris Fellow/William Peace award and as outstanding
Club President for District 7070.
Robert was also the recipient of the Vera L Parsons and the Joseph
Sedgwick Awards for proficiency in the Bar Admission Course of the
Law Society of Upper Canada.
Robert has served on the board of a number of charitable not-for-profit
organizations in the community, is actively involved in his Church,
has been involved in federal and provincial riding associations
at the executive level and is Vice Chair on the Board of Directors
for the Churchill Society for the advancement of Parliamentary Democracy.
Robert has been a public speaker to various community and professional
groups on a wide variety of topics. In his spare time, Robert has
been a long-distance and marathon runner, having participated in
the Toronto, Niagara and New York City Marathons.
